Report: Dwayne Johnson tied to an untitled Martin Scorsese film

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, along with Leonardo DiCaprio and Emily Blunt are tied to an untitled drama that would be directed by Martin Scorsese.

Deadline notes that the film would be set in Hawaii sometime during the 1960s-1970s and would focus on a “ruthless” Hawaiian mob boss who battles rivals for control of organized crime on the island.

Producers for the new film would include Scorsese, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Nick Bilton (who would write the storyline), Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette and Rick Yorn. It was also said that Johnson and Blunt brought up the idea to Scorsese and DiCaprio.

Johnson and Blunt are starring in A24’s ‘Smashing Machine’ that a biopic on MMA legend Mark Kerr, which is in post-production and is expected to release in theaters sometime this year. The two also paired together in Disney’s Jungle Cruise.

Johnson recently made appearances on WWE programming. He cut a promo on the January 6 premiere of WWE Raw on Netflix and then cut a promo on NXT the next night that aired on the CW.
