Kenny Omega is the new AEW International Champion.
Omega defeated Konosuke Takeshita at Sunday’s Revolution, ending Takeshita’s 5-month reign as champion.
Below is an excerpt from Alex Kahrs’ AEW Revolution recap of the how the title change went down.
Omega back to his feet as the champ gets to his knees, and Kenny hits a big kick on the Alpha. Another big kick lands flush, sending the champ to the mat. He sets the champ up before looking for one more kick…and Takeshita blocks it for a few strikes of his own, only for Kenny to take him back down. Kenny hits the V-Trigger on the Alpha, as Callis tries to help his man out to no avail.
Kenny counters out of a Raging Fire to roll the champ up, to which the champ goes for one of his own before Kenny manages to get the leverage he needs to get the win and the title!
