Fightful Select is reporting that sources within AEW have indicated they have had the idea for several months of unifying the International and Continental Championships. It was also said some within the company have stated that unifying the two titles is likely the direction that will be taken.
The report notes that it is not clear how the unification would be introduced and if the belts will be carried together or merged into one title with a possible new name.
Kenny Omega defeated Konosuka Takeshita at this past Sunday’s Revolution to win the International Championship, while Kazuchika Okada retained the Continental Title against Brody King at the pay-per-view.
