Dakota Kai took to social media on Friday to confirm Fightful Select’s initial report that she has been released from WWE.
Kai posted a video to her social media with a man walking, that includes the caption “Ah s–, here we go again.”
Kai’s last match was on the March 17 episode of Raw, where she picked up a win against Ivy Nile. Kai did media appearances in Las Vegas during WrestleMania 41 Saturday and Sunday.
This is the second time WWE has released Kai. After first signing with the company in 2016, she was released in April 2022. However, she made her surprise return at SummerSlam that same year, aligning with Bayley and IYO SKY to form Damage CTRL. Kai is a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and a Two-Time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion.
Kai posted to her X account back on April 29 confirming she is not injured. However, the post has since been removed.
Fightful first reported earlier in the day on Friday that internal memos went out within WWE, indicating Kayden Carter, Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Shayna Baszler and Katana Chance have been released.
