Following a segment during the special live Thursday episode of AEW Collision on TBS and Max between Ricochet and Former WWE talent Zach Gowen, it was announced the two will have a match.
The matchup will take place on the 5/14 episode of AEW Dynamite Beach Break on TBS and Max, from the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
AEW announced the match would take place, following Ricochet’s win over Angelico and after Ricochet taunted Gowen at ringside and then attacked security. One of the security guards was rolled in the ring by Ricochet. He then grabbed scissors and began to cut the hair of the security staff. Gowen then jumped the guardrail to make the save, but Ricochet kicked his good leg, sending him to the mat. Ricochet then took off Gowen’s prosthetic leg and took off with it, leaving Gowen in the ring and then mocking him, to end the segment.
Gowen is best remembered for his brief run in WWE in 2003, having had matches against Vince McMahon, Matt Hardy, John Cena and Brock Lesner. He was also part of the of the feud between Hulk Hogan (under a mask as Mr. America) and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper which took place on SmackDown.
