In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that “one person high up in decision making” within WWE told him that current Women’s World Champion IYO SKY has been considered a breakaway star for her in-ring work and promos. In addition, it was added that everyone within the women’s division loves working with SKY.
Meltzer said the following:
“One person high up in decision making noted to us that Sky has been considered breakaway star this year, combining the fire and voice inflections that made Asuka a strong promo without speaking English and ‘her ridiculously great workrate, and everyone loves working with her, so no one has a problem making her shine, letting her shine, and designing a match for her to shine.”
SKY defeated Rhea Ripley back on the March 3 episode of Raw to win the title.
