TMZ Sports asked Shane if he and his father (Vince McMahon) plan to start up a new pro wrestling company, his meeting with AEW and the recent rumors about his father possibly buying back WWE.

On if he and his father are going to start up a new pro wrestling company:

“You never know what’s gonna happen out there. Of course, anything can happen in WWE, but those rumors are false. Those rumors are false.”

On the meeting he had with AEW in the summer of 2024:

“I had a meeting with AEW and wished them continued success. But it’s not WWE, it’s not the company I helped build. But you never know what’s gonna happen in this business.”

On the recent the recent rumors about his father possibly buying back WWE:

“Well, he owns a big part of TKO still, so you never know what’s going to happen there either. So, I’m just saying anything can happen.”

At the end of the clip, when asked about his dad’s well being, Shane said he is doing ‘really well’, is enjoying life and is focused on doing ‘the next thing.’

You can watch the 59 second clip below:

As it pertains to Shane’s comments on his dad still owning a big part of TKO, a SEC filing from last Wednesday shows Vince McMahon sold over 1,579,080 shares of TKO stock to Endeavor, with the transaction being made final the same day. This comes to around $250 million.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics recently stated on X that by his count, if McMahon has not made any other transactions since last September, he still holds 6,442,325 TKO shares, which would leave him with about 3 percent of TKO stock. Between the early part of 2023 and the spring of 2024, Vince sold over $1.5 billion in TKO stock.

Vince recently launched his own sports, entertainment and media investment firm, which is named 14TH & I. Former WWE Executive Brad Blum, a long-time ally of McMahon, is listed as the President of 14TH & I, according to Blum’s verified LinkedIn profile.

Vince still remains under litigation in a 2024 lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, alleging sex trafficking, sexual assault, sexual abuse and harassment. WWE also is still part of lawsuit, while former WWE Executive John Laurinaitis was dismissed, from the suit, after agreeing to hand over evidence to Grant’s legal team. In addition, Vince is also a defendant in the “ring boys” lawsuit.
