Netflix reportedly developing new pro wrestling series with old WWE talk show name

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Netflix is in early development of creating a new drama series, ‘Tuesday Night Titans’, also known as ‘The TNT Show.’

‘Tuesday Night Titans’ was the name of the 1980s wrestling talk show that later became a variety show. It is also noted that the original USA Network series is not connected to this new Netflix project.

Deadline further notes the executive producer is former WWE Raw writer Michael Notarile, alongside Jon M. Chu (WickedCrazy Rich Asians) and Caitlin Foito.

Below is a description of the new series from Deadline:

Set in the spectacle-driven world of professional wrestling, Tuesday Night Titans follows a tenacious writer who risks her career in the big leagues to recruit her estranged childhood best friend – a ‘jobber’ wrestler on the indies – to join the same behemoth company they idolized in their youth. Their destinies become entangled as they battle personal demons, ruthless colleagues, and their complicated history in an industry where “kayfabe” – wrestling’s staged reality – isn’t confined to the ring, but bleeds into every aspect of their lives.

At the time of Deadline’s report, Netflix declined to comment on the new project.
