WWE Hall of Famer talks on the current landscape of pro wrestling and more!

WANE 15 News interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, who appeared as part of the Fort Wayne TinCaps “Pro Wrestling Night” at Parkview Field on Friday, June 27th.

When asked about his thoughts on the landscape of today’s pro wrestling, Foley said that its in a really strong position.

“Yeah, well, I think we’re in a really strong position. WWE on a global basis has never been more successful. I think AEW realizes they don’t have to topple WWE to be really successful and really enjoyable, and there’s other wrestling out there for people who like all kinds of styles. I mean, just like in the city of Chicago, for example, you can find three or four different types of wrestling on a single night and all of it’s good, depending on what your tastes are.”

Foley was then asked about his thoughts on Game Changer Wrestling.

“Well those guys [chuckles], they definitely put in on the line. I am not here to advocate for it, but I am here to say, I admire people you know, who put it all out there.”

Earlier in the interview, Foley was asked about a special baseball memory as a kid. He said that he pitched a one-hitter, sending his team to the pennant and that his team won the next game when he was catching. He also notes that his dad used to take him to the old Yankee Stadium and that, not very many people know that he wrote a baseball novel. He went on to say that those who read the book and are baseball experts, told Foley he did his “homework.”

Foley also talks about the Hell in the Cell Match he had with The Undertaker back on June 28, 1998, defeating The Rock for the WWF/E Championship on the January 4, 1999 episode of Raw and much more!

The TinCaps ended up losing 8-0 to the Great Lakes Loons.
