Saraya talks finding ‘real happiness’ outside of wrestling

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Saraya talked about her break from professional wrestling and what that means for her current projects.

It feels good to take a little break from wrestling and then see the outpouring of love from people saying they want me back.

I just want to get my feet wet outside of wrestling for a little bit and take care of myself this year. It’s consumed me my whole life. All 32 years of my life has been wrestling, so I just want to find myself a little bit outside it and next year, maybe come back.

A former champion in both AEW and WWE, Saraya addressed speculation surrounding a potential return to the latter for Evolution on July 12, stating she had not had a conversation with the company.

Saraya’s focus remains on her podcast Rulebreakers, her new memoir Hell in Boots, and her pursuit of acting roles, something the woman once known as Paige says has made her the happiest she’s ever been:

I didn’t realize real happiness until this year. Maybe it’s because I’m a single woman, and I haven’t really been single in a decade — just having that moment of just being myself, being able to do whatever I want.
