According to an exclusive report by TMZ Sports, actors Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will not be bringing the story of Hulk Hogan’s life to the big screen after all. It was said the decision was made long before his passing.
Sources with direct knowledge regarding the project, told TMZ Sports Damon and Affleck’s production company, Artists Equity, is not moving forward with the film, which has not been in development for some time. There is no information on why the two actors decided not to go forward with the biopic.
Damon and Affleck had previously planned on making a biopic about the infamous leaked sex tape video of Hogan having sex with the wife of radio host Bubba The Love Sponge. It also included racial slurs, which was later released by Gawker. That lawsuit filed by Hogan reached a $31 million settlement.
TMZ Sports added that Hogan was not involved in the Gawker film, had no interest and would have pursued legal action if Damon and Affleck went to far, crossing the line.
Hogan (real name Terry Bollea), passed away last Thursday, July 24 at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest. WWE did tributes to Hogan during SmackDown, Raw and NXT.
Matthew Belloni of Puck News reported last Friday that a docuseries focused on the life of Hogan has been in the works since 2024, noting interviews had already been recorded for the project.
