Report: Hurt Syndicate facing ‘backstage heat’ due to creative issues

Fightful Select has reported that MVP has developed backstage heat in recent months, with other talent pointing to ongoing issues surrounding creative direction and the booking of the Hurt Syndicate faction.

The discussion surrounding these concerns stems from a recent Space on X (formerly Twitter) hosted by The Wrestling Binder’s “JCup2013,” with one situation cited as MVP’s alleged refusal for the group to lose to specific teams, including FTR.

It is said that AEW pitched FTR to defeat Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin at both All In and Forbidden Door as part of a redemption arc, with other matches pitched involving the likes of Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay before the latter’s neck injury forced a change of plans.

MVP reportedly rejected the idea of dropping the titles to FTR, instead expressing a desire to elevate younger teams such as the Gates of Agony, The Outrunners, and Private Party.

Among other concerns reported within the discussion were the group’s inconsistent presentation and MVP’s reported “dislike” of Mike Bailey, a firm stance that notably did not sit will with others in the company.

Despite the issues centering around MVP, his stablemates are not believed to be involved in any of the backstage drama.
