According to a new report from Fightful Select, former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has been working with an injury.
The report notes that Strickland has a torn meniscus, which he suffered back in 2019 while signed with WWE, working at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
At the time of the report, it is not known if Strickland will undergo surgery after Sunday’s Forbidden Door, as he is scheduled to challenge Kazuchika Okada for the Unified Title. It was added that the medical staff of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars is helping Strickland work through his injury.
Strickland last wrestled back on the July 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, having defeated Don Callis Family Member, Hechicero.
