The most recent episode of What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon features an interview with Roman Reigns, but an ad spot for a VPN service has led to quite the buzz among fans online.
The former chief branding officer of WWE spent time on her podcast to talk about the benefits of a VPN service called Surfshark, citing the ability to access Netflix for an ad-free experience watching WWE programming:
WWE on Netflix is truly the best thing ever, but there’s one catch: not everybody gets that. A lot of you are still watching WWE the old school way–on cable, dealing with boring commercials–while I’m enjoying uninterrupted action.
WWE’s deal with Netflix currently brings Raw to fans in the United States on Monday nights, with international fans offered even more content in the form of SmackDown, NXT, premium live events, and a selection of archival content from WWE’s vast library.
SmackDown and NXT currently air on USA Network and CW, respectively, with WWE Clash in Paris marking the final main-roster PLE on Peacock before the move to ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer service starting with Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
The advertisement is still a part of the podcast episode as of this writing.
