Kenny Omega took to social media on Thursday, responding to reports regarding an injury angle taking place at the end of this week’s AEW Dynamite.
Fightful Select noted that the former AEW World Champion being put through a table, attacked in the ring, and put on a stretcher to close the show had been the plan “for quite a while,” with the main reason being time off for a trip to Japan for the Tokyo Game Show.
The report further stated that the break was not injury-related, as any pain Omega experiences now is to be expected.
Citing “specialized hospital visits and work that had been planned for a year,” Omega responded by saying he was trying to improve what he can and “represent the company in a positive way while not performing.”
As a result of the time off, Omega is not expected to be a part of AEW All Out Toronto on September 20.
