The 9/12 edition of WWE SmackDown saw Tiffany Stratton defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill in a match that ended in a double count out, before Nia Jax attacked the champion with an Annihilator.
NXT General Manager Ava posted on social media that Stratton was no longer medically cleared to compete at the upcoming NXT Homecoming event, revealing that Lyra Valkyria will take her place in the scheduled six-woman tag match against Fatal Influence.

The former NXT Women’s Champion will team alongside Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer to take on Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazymn Nyx.
NXT Homecoming takes place September 16 from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, with the following advertised for the event:
