ESPN gives a low grade to WWE’s Wrestlepalooza

ESPN’s Andreas Hale provided his overall review of this past Saturday’s WWE Wrestlepalooza, which ended up with a C grade.

The only match that Hale gave above a C average was the Women’s World Championship match, with a B+ that saw Stephanie Vaquer defeat IYO SKY for the vacated title.

Hale did give one match a C-, which was John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar, that saw Lesnar defeat the soon to be retired Cena.

Hale wrote the following at the end of review:

WWE Wrestlepalooza Final Grade: C

The excellent Vaquer vs. Sky match saved this show from being truly average. It was a phenomenal display inside the squared circle. Everything else was either underwhelming (the short Rhodes-McIntyre match) or a setup for a future match (Lesnar dominating Cena). For a card that promised to have epic moments, it fell a little short of expectations.

Wrestlepalooza was WWE’s first premium live event with ESPN. This past August, WWE and ESPN announced a five-year deal worth $325 million annually to the exclusive home to PLE events in the United States.
