Winner: Alex Wright
Roy’s thoughts: They really tried to do something with Alex Wright. He was very good in the ring but no promos from him just yet. A fun match to start the show.
We cut to the back and Hulk Hogan, who is wearing a neck brace, is with Jimmy Hart. He tells Jimmy Hart that they thought they were dead but they aren’t even down and out. Hogan grabs his neck brace but Jimmy Hart tells him not to take it off. Hogan says he has not missed a work out yet and everyone knows that The Giant tried to take him out at Fall Brawl. But Hogan is back on track and coming at him.
Hogan tells him if he has the guts, he is building a bigger and better Hulkamania Monster Truck and if he has the guts, to hook them up. Machine against machine and he will drag him around the arena. And if he can get by that, he will give him what he wants. He will put the WCW World Heavyweight Title on the line. And when The Giant accepts, he will put him in his place. He will prove that the largest arms in the world can stand any test. And as he slams him in Detroit, he will be laid to rest next to his father.
Roy’s thoughts: Hulk Hogan’s promos were a lot of fun, he can get you believing anything. I forgot that the WCW Monster Truck era was in 1995, I thought it was a bit later.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial and “Mean” Gene Okerlund is in the ring. He takes us back to last week and the promo between “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Lex Luger. Back in the ring, Savage is in the ring with Okerlund. He tells Okerlund that word on the street is that Luger wants to talk to him. Luger runs down to the ring and both men are face to face.
Luger tells him that he thinks he knows what the problem is. It is a severe lack of respect. He says Savage has been thumbs down on Lex Luger since day one and he is sick and tired of it. Sometimes, you have to go to war against each other. He says he has been there with Sting, there is mutual respect. With Hogan, mutual respect. And anyone who would slap the Total Package obviously lacks any common sense. Savage tells him he is shaking in his boots. Luger challenges Savage to a match next week on Nitro.
Savage says he likes it. Luger says he will put his title shot on the line. Luger tells him that if Luger does not beat him next week, he will leave WCW. Savage asks him if he is sure and Luger says he is. Savage tells him that is laying it all on the line and that is how he likes it. He accepts his challenge. Savage extends his hand and Luger walks away.
Roy’s thoughts: They have done great in building up Randy Savage against Lex Luger. Even if you are a new fan who never watched WCW, creative did well in making sure that the fans know that these two guys are big stars.
A promo for WCW Halloween Havoc airs.

He goes for a waist lock but Kurasawa reverses it into a waist lock and a German suplex cover and he gets the pin.
Winner: Kurasawa
Roy’s thoughts: This was a hard hitting match. That back drop onto the outside was nasty. Not sure anyone in the arena really knew who any of these two guys were.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, “Mene” Gene Okerlund is in the ring with Brian Pillman and Arn Anderson. Pilmann tells him ever since Arn walked down the ring at Fall Brawl, Flair has reached an all time low. Pillman tells Flair that while Flair continues this pathetic quest for a partner, Arn and himself will be exercising their right to bare arms, their right to assemble and their right to hospitalize anyone that gets in their paths.
Arn tells Okerlund to think what he wants to think. He knows Flair but he has to understand that the better man won. And if Flair wants revenge, to rememer the formula. If you jump on him, you jump on them. Flair is one of the greatest of all time but if he is going to get in a tag team situation, this is where Arn excels. He says for 10 years, Flair ran over everybody but he had Arn to back his play.
Eric Bischoff mentions WCW Saturday Night and how Dusty Rhodes will be his co-host. Bischoff also mentions that Sting will take on Johnny B Badd and the new Tag Team Champions and The Giant will also be on the show.

Mark Starr comes out and The Giant Chokeslams him onto the mat. Alex Write comes out and he jumps off the top rope but The Giant catches him and gets him in a bear hug.
Out comes Lex Luger to the ring. The Giant chokeslams Savage. Luger stands on top of Savage but The Giant grabs Luger but Luger with a right hand. The Giant with a right hand and he chokeslams Luger.
Roy’s thoughts: Not much in the match but they really did well with The Giant. They pushed him and just had him beat up everyone. Alex Wright got a pop when he came out, surprised they had The Giant beat him up too. Also, it’s the small things but the time keeper ringing the bell even after the match was over is something they don’t do anymore.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial and Luger is still down in the ring as Meng comes out for their match.

Meng goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Meng
Roy’s thoughts: Crazy how Meng is one of the toughest guys in wrestling history but he was never made to be the guy. As for the match, no big advertisement for it throughout the entire show but they really played on Lex Luger being hurt going into next week’s match against Savage.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial and we go to the commentary team. They talk about Luger challenging Randy Savage and how everyone is worried about The Giant. Bischoff mentions that Hulk Hogan will be on Nitro next week as will the new WCW Tag Team Champions and The Nasty Boys. Also Lex Luger against Randy Savage as Nitro goes off the air.
Roy’s thoughts: Nothing great but what is standing out to me are things that we don’t see much of in wrestling anymore. Short matches, not a lot of rest holds and my favorite, the time keeper still ringing the bell after the match ended if someone is being attacked. Best part of the show was probably Savage against Luger, especially since they were working on this since the first Nitro.
