Fightful Select has provided backstage details on the departure of Jazmyn Nyx, including how much WWE was offering her, that she turned down.
Nyx posted to social media earlier this week, she is not re-signing with WWE because the contract they offered her for the next three years, wasn’t going to cut if for her financially.
According to Fightful Select, multiple sources including agents, NXT staff, and talent spoke to the publication about the financial details and circumstances regarding Nyx’s, in addition to how the pay structure works with WWE vs. NXT.
It was said that WWE was interested in re-signing Nyx, but were not willing to offer more money to her as part of their original offer. The word within NXT is Nyx had been working under a contract paying her roughly $75,000 per year, which is the same amount they had offered her as part of new multi-year deal. It is not known if WWE’s new offer included any financial incentives.
Fighful Select adds that NXT talent usually start off which much less pay. However, there some within NXT that are being paid six-figures. WWE sources noted that main roster pay starts around $350,000 per year.
A talent within NXT told Fightful Select that after taxes, Nyx was only seeing take home pay of less than $60,000 per year, while she was responsible for her own expenses, including ring gear.
Nyx was written off NXT storylines during this past Tuesday’s episode, in a backstage segment where she was shown beaten and lying on the ground unconscious, with Jacy Jayne looking over saying that it was time to drop Nyx from Fatal Influence, as “only the strong survive.”
During a Snapchat Q&A, according to F4WOnline, Nyx answered a question regarding her salary in NXT.
“Ultimately it came down to the work I was putting in and being booked for was not accurate with the amount I was being offered. And no I was not making 6 figures but that is the goal but thank you.”
Nyx also responded to a fan on social media who claims Nyx was making making $80,000 per year and that NXT talent paid between $80,000 and $150,000 per year.
