According to a new report from Deadline, WWE superstar Drew McIntyre has officially joined the cast of the Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists reboot of Highlander.
The report notes that McIntyre will star opposite Henry Cavill as his character MacLeod’s brother Angus MacLeod in the new film.
In addition to McIntyre and Cavill, the movie will also star former WWE Champion Dave Bautista, Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, and Max Zhang.
Michael Finch wrote the screenplay based on the original 1986 film of the same name. The original film portrayed the climax of an ancient battle between immortal warriors, unfolding through interwoven past and present-day storylines.
Deadline also notes the film was in pre-production earlier this month, before it was halted when Cavill injured himself during training. Production is now expected to begin sometime in early 2026.
