Injury updates for WWE and AEW talents

WWE NXT talent Ridge Holland posted a video to X, providing an update following his recent surgery.

Holland was injured at the last set of TNA television tapings at Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Holland was wrestling Moose and appeared to injure his foot. The referee stopped the match, as Holland had to be helped to the back and could not put any weight on his left leg. He later took to social media, noting he would need to undergo Lisfranc injury. This is the middle part of the foot which helps stabilize the foot’s arch when walking.

There is no timeline as to when he will return.

In his video, Holland said the following:

“So just laying here, just taking me painkillers, taking me some lovely hydrocodone, which takes the edge off slightly. For the past seven years it’s been a bit of a bumpy ride with the wrestling business. Just as I start to get rolling something happens, same again this time. TNA, a couple of good matches and then this happens. But again, we heal, we recover, we march forward and I’m looking forward to coming back and getting in the best shape of my life. I’m using all these injuries and all these ups and downs. I’m using it as a lesson to my kids and anyone else that wants to take notice that it doesn’t matter what happens to you, really. There’s always a way back if you just believe.”

Despite having his shoulder pop out during his match against Hechicero at a CMLL event last Friday night, ROH World Champion Bandido and one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, is going to push through it and wrestle at AEW Dynamite Title Tuesday.

Bandido and tag team partner Brody King will be part of a Double Jeopardy Eliminator Match with Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada. If either Okada or Takeshita win, they earn a future AEW Tag Team Title Match. However, if Bandido or Brody King win, whoever gets the pinfall challenges Okada for the AEW Unified Championship.

ROH Men’s World Television Champion Nick Wayne was part of a backstage segment on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision. Wayne thought he was getting cleared to complete. However, medical staff told him that his foot was still swollen and he has at another six to eight weeks of recovery time. Wayne, Mother Wayne and Kip Sabian were all not happy.

The 20-yeaer old Wayne suffered a legitimate broken foot this past August, which took him off the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. It is not clear exactly how he broke his foot.
