Paul Heyman’s Looking4Larry merges with MCM Studios, looks to expand production in New York

In speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman revealed that his creative studio that he founded with Mitchell Stuart has merged with MCM Studios.

Heyman noted this new deal creates a production and creative firm that will be “end-to-end one-stop shopping” for film and TV studios, advertisers or independent content creators.

Heyman said the first order business will be to build “the biggest LED volume wall in all of New York.”

The report further notes that volume walls have become a predominate feature of virtual production, allowing for shoots to be set almost anywhere, with realistic lighting and set design. Major film studios in Los Angeles all have volume walls in their lots. It was added building a volume wall in Manhattan would up production and new client opportunities.

“This brings both big budget and affordable production back to New York at a time where we have these studios being built in Bergen County, New Jersey; We have the studios being built and these movies all being shot in Yonkers right now, which has become a big hub; We still have all these production offices in Long Island City, which 10 years ago, everybody thought was going to be the East Coast Burbank.”
