During a WWE house show in Melbourne on Wednesday, AJ Styles essentially said goodbye to Australia. He thanked the fans for the support they have shown him over the years.
This is more than likely the last time the 48-year old Styles will wrestle in Australia, as he confirmed during the Crown Jewel Kick-Off Show, he plans to hang up his boots in 2026.
At Wednesday’s event, Styles defeated El Grande Americano.
Next up for Styles is the WWE Supershow events Friday and Saturday at the at Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena in Sumida, Japan. Styles has a run in NJPW, most notably as the leader of Bullet Club from 2014 to 2016, when he left to join WWE.
Styles said the following:
“I just want to thank you guys for cheering and being some of the best fans in the world. Because, here’s the truth, I’m probably not going to see you again in a singlet like this anymore. So I just wanted you to know from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much.”
