Windham Rotunda is being honored by his former high school.
The Hernando High School Wrestling Club in Brooksville, Florida announced on social media, that their December 5-6 tournament has been renamed to the “The Windham Rotunda Memorial Invitational.” The school also said that annual scholarship is being established in Windham Rotunda’s name.
Wyatt attended Hernando High School and played for the school’s football team, in addition to wrestling. The wrestling club is overseen by David Pritz, who was a teammate of Wyatt’s at the high school.
Rotunda, who was best known as Bray Wyatt in WWE, passed away back on August 24, 2023 from a heart attack in his sleep. He was 36-years old.
“With the blessing of the Rotunda Family and Brooksville Kiwanis we are changing the name of the long lasting Kiwanis Invitational to the Windham Rotunda Memorial Invitational,” Pritz announced. “We also are creating a scholarship fund in his name that will be presented to one senior wrestler every year before the finals of the tournament. This will be our 44th year hosting one of the most established high school wrestling tournaments in the state of Florida. Windham was my teammate and one of the most memorable athletes to ever wear the Purple and Gold. I hope this can be a small tribute to his lasting legacy. He is a true legend and someone we will never forget.”

Windham’s sister, Mika commented that she showed this to their dad, WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda and that they both cried. Rotunda has been staying in a rehabilitation center recovering a massive heart attack he suffered back on September 20. Mika had noted her dad was in a coma for a week and spent a month in the hospital.
