*UPDATED* – Freddie Prinze Jr. claims ESPN is unhappy with WWE deal

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted on X that he reached out to sources in WWE and ESPN regarding Freddie Prinze, Jr’s claim that a friend with ESPN said the network is unhappy about the current deal the Disney owned entity has with WWE.

A WWE higher up told Sapp that “no one is WWE upper management is aware of Prinze, Jr.’s role in wrestling or otherwise.” In addition an ESPN representative claimed they have not heard differently and enjoy working with WWE.

During the latest episode of his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, actor Freddie Prinze Jr. claims he has a friend at Disney that told him ESPN is not happy with the WWE deal.

“ESPN, by the way, so unhappy with the deal. I was talking to a friend of mine who works for Disney, and he was just like, ‘Yo, they better make their money back on this deal. They’re hot.'”
