Following Monday’s angle on WWE Raw with LA Knight, several fans saw it as the former United States Champion’s burial by the company. After Logan Paul beat Knight, a masked man was part of a post-match attack on Knight that included The Vision. The show then ended with Knight being laid out backstage and Bronson Reed landing on Knight with a Tsunami on an SUV.
According to Fightful Select, WWE sources have confirmed that Knight “still has years left on his contract.”
Knight actually signed a new deal with WWE last year. One source noted to Fightful Select that the “outrage bubbling online was misplaced”, further adding the angle on Raw was “a standard story beat” which in due time, fans will see circle back on WWE programming.
Furthermore, Fightful notes what happened with Knight was not punishment by WWE for holding up a “We Want LA Knight, Not Jey Uso” sign during an episode of Raw last month, as some fans on social media suggested. Those that are close with creative, dismissed the angle to be some sort of punishment, with one person in the company joking that booking Knight to go over on Jey Uso would be “a weird punishment.”
