During an interview with New York Post Sports, Gunther talked about the opportunity to face John Cena in his final WWE match.
On what he wants to take away from the bout, the former World Heavyweight Champion responded:
It’s a good possibility to ruin the party for everyone, because I think everyone is looking forward to a grand final match of John Cena. I think everybody’s hoping for […] a joyful ending to his career, and I’m gonna do everything in my power to do the exact opposite.

Gunther defeated LA Knight in the finals of the Last Time Is Now Tournament to earn the honor of standing across the ring from the 17-time world champion.
Cena’s farewell match will be a part of a card focused on NXT and main roster talent facing off at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, taking place December 13 from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
