Vanderbilt University quarterback and Heisman Trophy finalist Diego Pavia, along with some teammates attended WWE’s live event at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, FL on Saturday.
In the front row where Pavia and his teammates were sitting, Grayson Waller came over and verbally ran them down before he was set to wrestle Rey Mysterio. As Waller tried to leave to the backstage area, Pavia and the other members of his team appeared on the entrance area, stopping Waller from heading to the back, then chasing him back to the ring, where he fell into the middle rope, took a 619 from Mysterio and then was pinned. Pavia and company celebrated the win.
Pavia and his teammates will play their final game of the season next Wednesday against Iowa in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Pavia was not awarded The Heisman Trophy, as it ended up being awarded to Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza.
