According to a new report from Fightful Select, There is no internal memo or indication that former AEW and ROH World Champion Chris Jericho has officially left AEW. The publication also notes those reports indicating that Jericho’s contract has officially expired, need to be approached cautiously. There had been reports last week with different dates of Jericho’s AEW deal expiring. Some reports indicated December 31, 2025, while others said his deal was up on January 1, 2026.
The report further notes both AEW and Jericho reportedly continue to maintain a strong relationship with one another. However, its was added that AEW was aware some of the fanbase grew weary with Jericho on television every week, which is said to have been a contributing factor for his absence from AEW programming.
As it pertains to WWE, Fightful Select notes sources said Jericho has not been discussed creatively and had not been part of any plans for him to be part of the 1/6 Raw from what they had seen.
Speculation of Jericho showing up on Monday’s Raw began after Adam Pearce said during his run down of the show on Sunday, specifically when talking about the three title matches on the show. Pearce asked, “Who can break the walls down and claim the gold?” However, it is believed what he was making reference to was the ‘Stranger Things’ show itself, as in the wall into the Upside Down dimension.
