WCW Nitro kicks off with the legendary Nitro intro.
We cut to the announce team and Bischoff welcomes everyone to the show. He says that Ric Flair will defend his WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Savage. We cut to the first match of the show.
Hulk Hogan vs. Arn Anderson with Woman
The bell rings and we are under way. Hogan grabs Arn and hits him with right hands. Arn rolls to the outside of the ring and Hogan to the outside. Hogan grabs Arn’s jacket and he begins to choke Arn with it. The referee breaks it up. Hogan throws Arn into the ring post and back into the ring. Hogan with a clothesline. Arn rolls onto the ring apron and Hogan grabs him but Arn slams Hogan face first into the top turnbuckle. Arn climbs the top rope but Hogan hits him with a right hand. Hogan with rakes to the eyes but the referee breaks it up. Hogan throws Arn to the outside of the ring and he begins to choke Arn with a Hulk Hogan shirt. Hogan with a chop to the chest and he throws Arn back into the ring. Hogan slams Arn onto the mat. He grabs Arn but Arn with an elbow to the face. Arn goes for a kick but Hogan grabs Arn’s leg. Hogan with a right hand and Arn falls to the outside of the ring. Hogan throws Arn back into the ring. Hogan back in the ring but Arn with a poke to the eyes. Arn runs towards Hogan but Hogan with a knee to the face. Hogan goes for a right hand, Arn goes for a DDT but Arn falls to the mat. Hogan with a right hand followed by the Big Boot. Hogan points saying no and he gets Arn in the Figure Four Leg Lock. Arn grabs the referee and out comes Kevin Sullivan. He gets on the ring apron but out comes Randy Savage and he hits Sullivan with a right hand. The referee calls for the bell.
Winner: By disqualification, Arn Anderson
Randy Savage raises Hogan’s arm in the air but the referee says no.
Roy’s thoughts: Having Hulk Hogan and Arn Anderson in the opening match of any show is insane. This wasn’t a good match but it was Hogan, who is one of the biggest names and the fans were entertained.

Alex Wright vs. Loch Ness with Jimmy Hart
The bell rings and we are under way. Wright goes for an arm bar but Loch Ness pushes him away. Wright gets back to his feet and goes for a waist lock but Wright lets go of it. Wright with a drop kick. He runs towards Loch Ness but Loch Ness catches him in the corner. Wright gets on the top rope and goes for a sleeper hold. Loch Ness flips Wright down onto the mat. Wright to the ropes and he goes for a splash but Loch Ness gets him in a bear hug but Wright gets out of it. Wright with a drop kick and Loch Ness in the corner. Wright with kicks and right hands. Wright with a running elbow to the face. He goes for another but Loch Ness with a big boot followed by an elbow drop. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Loch Ness
Roy’s thoughts: This was not a very good match. Alex Wright tried but Loch Ness was not good here.

Belfast Bruiser vs. Brad Armstrong
The bell rings and we are under way. Bruiser with an arm bar take down followed by an uppercut. Bruiser goes for the cover but Armstrong kicks out. Bruiser with a head lock take down. Bruiser with a right hand and a shoulder tackle. Bruiser with a shoulder tackle. He runs to the ropes but Armstrong with a hip toss. He goes for the cover but Bruiser kicks out. Armstrong with a head lock but Bruiser with a right hand. He grabs Armstrong and slams his head into the ring apron. Bruiser slams Armstrong face first into the top turnbuckle. He grabs Armstrong but Armstrong throws him to the outside of the ring. Bruiser grabs Armstrong by the leg and slams it into the ring apron. He slams Armstrong’s leg into the ring post. Bruiser gets back in the ring and as does Armstrong. Bruiser with a reverse toe hold but Armstrong with an elbow to the face. Armstrong throws Bruiser to the ropes and Armstrong with a back body drop. Armstrong with a cross body onto Bruiser and they both fall to the outside of the ring. Both men get back in the ring and Armstrong with a bulldog. Armstrong with a back suplex. Armstrong to the ropes but Bruiser modified slam. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Belfast Bruiser
Roy’s thoughts: This match had a lot of head lock take downs and an ending which just wasn’t good.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match – Ric Flair (c) with Miss Elizabeth and Woman vs. Randy Savage
The bell rings and we are under way. Savage’s left arm has tape all around it and Savage with right hands. He throws Flair into the turnbuckle. Flair bounces off and Savage with a back body drop. Savage gets Flair in the corner and he climbs the second rope. Savage with right hands but Flair with an atomic drop. Savage rolls to the outside of the ring. Flair slams Savage over the barricade. Flair grabs Savage and throws him back at ring side. Flair with chops to the chest. Flair gets back in the ring and Flair begins to chase Woman. Savage turns around and Flair with an elbow to the face. Flair with a chop to the chest. Flair gets back in the ring and Savage gets back in the ring. Flair with a chop to the chest. Savage with right hands and he runs towards Flair but Flair with an elbow to the face. Flair climbs the top rope but Savage with a gorilla press slam. Savage with the Figure Four Leg Lock onto Flair but Flair makes it to the ropes. Savage throws Flair to the ropes and Savage with a sleeper hold but Flair with a back suplex. Savage to the ropes and Flair with an elbow to the face. Flair with a vertical suplex. Flair with the Figure Four Leg Lock but Savage reverses it and Flair lets go of the hold. Flair goes for a right hand but Savage with a right hand. Flair with a chop to the chest but Savage with a right hand. He throws Flair into the turnbuckle but Flair flips over and lands on the ring apron. Savage with a right hand and Flair falls back into the ring. Savage climbs the top rope and lands a double axe. Miss Elizabeth gets on the ring apron and distracts the referee. Woman throws something in the ring but Savage catches it and he hits Flair with it. Savage goes for the cover but Woman hits Savage with her shoe and the referee doesn’t see it. Out comes Kevin Sullivan but he is chased by Hogan. That distracts the referee and out comes Arn Anderson. He hits Savage with the DDT. Flair goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair
Hogan gets in the ring and he hits Arn with right hands but Flair hits Hogan from behind. Out comes the Zodiac but he is dressed in white. Zodiac with right hands onto Flair, Arn and Sullivan. He chases them to the back. He gets back in the ring and helps Savage back up. Flair, Arn, Sullivan, Miss Elizabeth and Woman get on commentary. Flair says that Hogan lost and out comes Zodiac who chases them away. Hogan tells Bischoff that the Booty Man can get it done. Hogan says it will be a six man tag team match next week and Nitro goes off the air.
Roy’s thoughts: Not a bad match but the ending, like Armstrong and Bruiser, wasn’t good. I said it before but it feels like Savage is always the underdog, he was presented as one in every big match. As for The Booty Man, not a very good name and the fans didn’t react to it.
