WWE Elimination Chamber saw the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line as AJ Lee challenged Becky Lynch.
As recapped by Mike Tedesco during his live coverage of the event, Lee defeated “The Man” via submission to win her first title in eleven years:
Lynch furiously grabs Lee and tries to drive her into the exposed turnbuckle, but Jessika Carr stops her. Lynch is irate. Lee rolls her up for a near fall. Lynch sets up for a Manhandle Slam, but Lee pushes her off. Lee sidesteps an avalanche, and Lynch hits the exposed turnbuckle! Lee applies the Black Widow… and Lynch taps out!
The match marked Lee’s first singles match in over a decade, returning to the company last September to team with CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at Wrestlepalooza.
