Report: WrestleMania 42 watch parties are back on in Las Vegas

According to a new report from Fightful Select, the previously planned local blackout for WrestleMania 42 watch parties in Las Vegas has officially been lifted.

Multiple establishments within a 50-mile radius of Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, just outside of Las Vegas had been initially notified that a forced blackout of WrestleMania 42 would take place. It was reported this decision was being made as a result of lagging ticket sales for the big two-night event, with the hopes this would help increase movement in tickets.

Fightful notes that late this week, sources indicated there was growing momentum allowing licensed venues to host WrestleMania 42 watch parties. Fightful adds that by Friday, Circa Las Vegas’ Stadium Swim announced the blackout was removed, thus making it allowable for establishments that license WWE Premium Live Events through Joe Hand Promotions to broadcast the show.

The report further states that one official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to Fightful Select, noted that when the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors agreed to pay a site fee to bring WrestleMania 42 to Las Vegas, the expectation was that the PLE would generate economic benefits across the city as a whole and just not for WWE and Allegiant Stadium.

WrestleMania 42 takes place on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19.
