According to a report from El Universal, a Mexican Judge granted the release of Alberto Del Rio (real nameJ osé Alberto Rodríguez Chucuan), this past Saturday after he had fulfilled the payment of one million pesos to his partner, which was reportedly part of a legal agreement following his alleged assault against her.
One million pesos is $56, 747.25 in United States currency.
Per initial reports, the victim granted forgiveness, thus allowing an agreement to be reached between both parties.
Authorities arrested Del Rio (aka Alberto El Patron) back on Monday, April 6 in the Lomas del Tec subdivision in the capital of San Luis Potosí for the alleged assault. The woman suffered injuries to her face and arms.
El Universal also adds that authorities have not disclosed in detail the full terms of the agreement reached or there are any additional measures stemming from the case.
In December 2021, Del Rio was accused and then arrested of sexual assault in San Antonio, Texas. However, he was acquitted of the charges after the witness no-showed for court. Del Rio was also suspended for 180 days by AAA by Tijuana authorities after he tossed a chair at a fan during an event.
It was reported last May that Del Rio re-signed with WWE as part of WWE’s acquisition of AAA. However, he has not appeared on any of WWE’s programming after he supposedly signed the new deal last year.
