On the 4/28 edition of WWE NXT, Tony D’Angelo was confronted by a cloaked figure in the ring as he addressed a gift box presented to him the week prior.
The figure quickly revealed himself as the man NJPW fans know as EVIL, who was reportedly on his way to the brand after his previous contract expired.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion stared the reigning NXT Champion down before offering a shirt and making his exit from the ring.
NXT commentator Vic Joseph alluded to the man’s history by asking if the gift was given for admiration or if it was a “gift of pure evil.”
