WCW Nitro kicks off with the legendary Nitro video.
We cut to the announce team and they talk about tonight’s main event. Heenan says there is a lot of police in the back and they are there because Randy Savage is there tonight.
Public Enemy vs. American Males
The bell rings and we are under way. Rocco Roc throws Bagwell to the outside of the ring and Public Enemy double team Riggs in the ring. Bagwell climbs the top rope and lands a cross body onto Public Enemy. They fall to the outside of the ring and American Males with splashes onto Public Enemy on the outside. Riggs and Grunge get in the ring and Riggs with a hip toss followed by a body slam. Riggs with a drop kick and Grunge falls to the outside of the ring. Rocco Roc gets in the ring and in comes Bagwell, they double drop kick Rocco Roc. Grunge gets back in the ring but Bagwell with a right hand. Bagwell is tagged in and he lands an arm bar onto Rocco Roc. Riggs is tagged back in the ring and Bagwell is tagged back in. Bagwell with a right hand onto Grunge who falls off the ring apron and Rocco Roc with a right hand onto Bagwell. Grunge is tagged in. Grunge with a clothesline onto Bagwell. Grunge with a body slam and Rocco Roc is tagged in. They double team Bagwell. Rocco Roc goes for the cover but Riggs breaks it up. Grunge is tagged back in and they double team Bagwell. Grunge throws Bagwell into the corner but Bagwell with a springboard cross body. He goes for the cover but Rocco Roc breaks it up. Rocco Roc is tagged in and they double clothesline Bagwell. Rocco Roc with a body slam followed by an elbow drop. Grunge is tagged back in. Grunge with a leg drop. Rocco Roc climbs the top rope, he is tagged in and goes for a senton but Bagwell moves out of the way. Riggs and Grunge are tagged in. Riggs with right hands onto Public Enemy. Riggs goes for the cover but Rocco Roc breaks it up. In comes Bagwell but Rocco Roc throws him to the outside. Rocco Roc and Grunge throw Riggs over the top rope and the referee calls for the bell.
Winners: By over the top rope, American Males
Grunge throws Riggs into the ring post and he places Riggs on a table at ring side. Grunge gets on the ring apron and Rocco Roc with a cannonball over the top rope onto Grunge and onto Riggs. The announce team call it the Enemy Sandwich.
Roy’s thoughts: Public Enemy are a lot of fun to watch. They are two big guys but they can move very well. American Males were a lot of fun to watch too.

Back from commercial, Gene Okerlund is at the entrance ramp with two women who talk about Slamboree and announce matches.

Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero
The bell rings and we are under way. Guerrero with an arm drag followed by a drop kick and Benoit rolls to the outside of the ring. Benoit gets back in the ring and he rakes Guerrero in the eyes. Benoit with a back suplex.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Guerrero with a hurricanrana. He grabs Benoit but Benoit with right hands and a chop. Benoit with a waist lock but Guerrero reverses it into a back suplex. Guerrero grabs Benoit but Benoit grabs Guerrero and lands a German suplex. He goes for the cover but Guerrero kicks out. He slams Guerrero into the corner and Benoit with right hands. Guerrero with right hands but Benoit throws Guererro to the outside of the ring. Guerrero gets back on the ring apron and climbs the top rope. Guerrero with a hurricanrana. He goes for the cover but Benoit gets a foot on the ropes. Guerrero grabs Benoit and gets on his shoulders. He rolls Benoit into a sunset flip but Benoit grabs Guerrero by the legs. Benoit goes for the cover without the referee looking, Benoit holds onto the ropes and gets the pin.
Winner: Chris Benoit
Roy’s thoughts: It’s always tough to talk about these kinds of matches but it was a good match.

Back from commercial, Gene Okerlund is with WCW VP Rob Garner. Out comes Randy Savage. Garner says they are very concerned about his actions and they understand his situation with Ric Flair. Garner says Savage’s actions are unacceptable. He tells him if he does not stop, the ramifications of his career will be dangerous. Savage tells him that they are all getting too comfortable around him. He says he will do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it and no one can do anything about it.
Garner tells Savage that if he cannot control his behavior, he should seek professional help. Savage says Garner needs a psychiatrist for standing like a stupid person. He asks Garner if he knows what an open hand slap is.
Okerlund breaks it up and Savage heads to the back.
Roy’s thoughts: A good promo from Randy Savage. He was made to look weak for months and now does not look like the underdog anymore. This was a good segment.

Meng and Hacksaw Jim Duggan come out for their match.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Meng
Back from commercial and the match is already under way. Duggan with right hands onto Meng and Meng falls to the outside of the ring. Meng gets back in the ring. Duggan with right hands but Meng with a right hand. Meng with a headbutt. Meng goes for an elbow drop but Duggan moves out of the way. Duggan with an atomic drop followed by a right hand. Duggan with a body slam. Duggan goes for a running spear but Meng moves out of the way. Meng with right hands. The referee tries to get in the middle of it but Meng moves him away. Duggan grabs the 2×4 but the referee but the referee grabs it from him. Meng with a kick. He goes for the cover but Duggan gets his foot on the ropes. Duggan rolls to the outside of the ring and he grabs tape from his trunks. Duggan wraps the tape around his feet. He gets on the ring apron and Meng grabs Duggan but Duggan with a right hand. Meng falls onto the mat. Duggan goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Roy’s thoughts: Not much in the match but two big guys hitting each other.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship, WCW World Television Championship and World Tag Team Championship Match – Ric Flair (c) and The Giant with Miss Elizabeth and Woman vs. Sting and Lex Luger (c’s)
Before the match, with Ric Flair in the ring, Randy Savage runs down but he is stopped by police at ring side.
The bell rings and we are under way. Sting and The Giant start the match. Sting with a drop kick but The Giant stays on his feet. Sting runs to the ropes but The Giant grabs him in a bear hug. Luger get sin the ring and he hits The Giant. Sting and Luger with a double clothesline and The Giant falls to the outside of the ring. In comes Flair but Sting with a gorilla press slam. Sting clotheslines Flair to the outside of the ring. Luger is tagged in and as is Flair. Flair with a chop to the chest but Luger on his feet. Luger throws Flair to the ropes and he gorilla press slams him. Luger with a clothesline. Sting is tagged in and he gets Flair in the corner. Sting climbs the second rope and he hits Flair with right hands. Sting gets down and he hip tosses Flair. Sting runs towards Flair but Flair with an elbow to the face. Flair climbs the top rope but Sting gorilla press slams him down. Sting places Flair on the top rope and he hits Flair with right hands. Sting climbs the top rope and he superplexes Flair down. Flair rolls to the outside of the ring. Sting goes for a splash on Flair but Flair moves out of the way and Sting hits the barricade. Flair throws Sting back into the ring and tags The Giant. He stands on top of Sting and Flair is tagged back in. Flair with a suplex but Sting gets back up. Sting with a clothesline and Luger is tagged in. Luger with right hands. Luger throws Flair into the turnbuckle and he flips over the top rope, landing on the ring apron. Luger with a right hand. Flair gets back in the ring and Luger with a body slam. In comes The Giant and he grabs Luger but Sting with a chop block off the top rope. Sting with right hands. Jimmy Hart gets on the ring apron but Sting with a right hand. Woman gives Flair a cup of coffee. He goes to throw it in the eyes of Sting and Luger but they move out of the way. Flair accidentally throws the coffee into The Giant’s face. The referee calls for the bell.
Winners: No contest
Ric Flair runs to the back. Flair comes back with a towel but The Giant begins arguing with him. Flair rolls to the outside of the ring.
Gene Okerlund is in the ring with The Giant and Jimmy Hart. The Giant says he is not happy, that coffee burns but it lit a fire in his soul. He tells Flair that now he is the real giant. Now he fulfills his legacy. He says he will win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
We cut to Ric Flair who is with the announce team. He says he tried to apologize, The Giant didn’t like it and Flair is mad. Flair says The Giant has until the end of the show to apologize or he will kick his ass next week. The Giant leaves the ring and Flair runs to the back.
Eric Bischoff says that Flair was let out in handcuffs. Heenan tells Flair to get some help, he is causing too much trouble. First he has a match against Savage, now he has trouble with The Giant. Bischoff talks about next week’s show and Nitro goes off the air.
Roy’s thoughts: A good main event. Ric Flair’s reactions were always fun to watch. They’ve been doing the coffee angle stuff with Woman for a few weeks, this was a good way to save face for everyone.
A fun Nitro with some good matches and not a lot of promos.
