Former NHL star set for enforcer role at IMPACT Slammiversary

Over a decade after his time on the ice for the Detroit Red Wings, it appears former NHL enforcer Darren McCarty has been called to take on a simiar role within the squared circle.

IMPACT announced via social media that McCarty will be the Special Enforcer in the tag team bout between the team of Bully Ray & Steve Maclin and PCO & Scott D’Amore.

D’Amore was attacked during the Under Siege event by Ray and Maclin, who sent him crashing through a flaming table.

After making his return, the President of IMPACT Wrestling would announce that he was taking a leave of absence in the role…before a series of events would lead to the former manager of TNA’s Team Canada making a long-awaited return to in-ring action for the event taking place Saturday, July 15 from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

McCarty’s role in the IMPACT pay-per-view will not be the first time he’s been involved in professional wrestling, having previously appeared for the independent promotion ICW: No Holds Barred.
