IMPACT Results – 6/2/22 (Top star finishes up, former TNA stars return)

According to PWInsider, W Morrisey (Former WWE Superstar Big Cass in WWE), has reportedly departed the company.  Thursday night’s episode featured PCO and Morrisey vs. Moose and Steve Maclin, in what is Morrisey’s final appearance with the company.

Savannah Evans w/ Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz vs Mia Yim

Mia Yim competes in her first singles match since returning to IMPACT Wrestling as she battles the powerful Savannah Evans. Deonna Purrazzo, who will join Yim in the first-ever Queen of the Mountain match at Slammiversary, joins Tom Hannifan on commentary. Evans spikes her with a big DDT. Evans continues the assault with a pop-up powerbomb but it’s not enough to put Yim away. Yim uses her quickness to avoid Evans, sending her crashing into the steel ring post. Yim regains her composure, then hits a flurry of suplexes. Evans comes back with a Samoan Drop for two. Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz attacks Yim from ringside but Jordynne Grace evens the odds. In the ring, Yim puts Evans away with Eat Defeat!

Shark Boy confronts Eddie Edwards in the back after Honor No More interrupted the match between Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian last week. Edwards tells him that he has no idea what IMPACT Wrestling has become. Edwards puts his hands on Shark Boy when IMPACT Wrestling veteran “Wildcat” Chris Harris comes to his aid!

Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The Influence rub salt in the wound of Rosemary after Havok failed to prove that Decay deserved a Knockouts World Tag Team Title shot when she lost to Masha Slamovich last week.

Kenny King vs Blake Christian – Kenny King’s Ultimate X Spot on the Line

Trey Miguel joins Tom Hannifan on commentary after he convinced Kenny King to put his spot in the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary on the line against longtime friend Blake Christian! The pace is fast and furious as Christian hits a handspring kick, sending King retreating to the outside. Christian soars through the air with a dive over the top rope. During the commercial break, King hangs him up on the ropes to gain control. Christian hits a Half and Half suplex for two. King connects with a springboard Blockbuster but this time it’s Christian who kicks out at two. King is perched over the top rope as Christian hits a Frog Splash to his back. King counters a 450 Splash into the Royal Flush to win!

The fifth participant in the Ultimate X match for the X-Division Championship at Slammiversary is revealed: Jack Evans!

Following their victory over Raj Singh and Shera last week, Bhupinder Gujjar returns the favor to W. Morrissey and offers his help whenever he needs it. Tonight, Morrissey teams with PCO to battle Moose and Steve Maclin in an all-star tag!

Digital Media Champion Rich Swann vs Matthew Rehwoldt

New Digital Media Champion Rich Swann is out for revenge on Matthew Rehwoldt after he left the announce table and eliminated Swann from the Gauntlet for the Gold! Swann attempts Sliced Bread on the apron but Rehwoldt counters and sends him crashing into the steel ring post. Swann fights back with a neckbreaker, followed by a step-up kick for two. Rehwoldt catches Swann in mid-air, then plants him to the mat with Earth Shatter. Swann connects with a cutter, followed by his signature Phoenix Splash to win!

Gia Miller catches up with Alisha, who was handed a mysterious envelope by Masha Slamovich following her victory over Renee Michelle on BTI. Alisha reveals what was inside the envelope, a picture of her covered with a red X. Gisele Shaw tells Alisha that it means “Masha’s going to kill her”.

The Good Brothers are in the ring to address their upcoming IMPACT World Tag Team Title match against The Briscoes at Slammiversary. Doc Gallows states that their opportunity isn’t earned, it’s deserved. Karl Anderson adds that The Briscoes’ accomplishments don’t add up to theirs, saying that while they were competing in Madison Square Garden, The Briscoes were somewhere on a chicken farm. The Good Brothers relive their top 10 greatest moments since coming to IMPACT Wrestling, but play mind games when moments 7-1 are when they defeated The Briscoes at Multiverse of Matches. Speaking of the champs, they’ve heard enough and confront Gallows and Anderson in the ring. Jay Briscoe says that unlike The Good Brothers, they still get up and grind every single day. Tensions explode as things get physical, causing The Good Brothers to retreat.

Gia Miller asks IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander if he’s more concerned about his IMPACT World TItle defense against Eric Young at Slammiversary after Violent By Design defeated him and The Briscoes in six-man tag team action last week. Alexander says no but quickly finds himself on the receiving end of a three-on-one attack from Violent By Design!

Scott D’Amore grants Josh Alexander a match with the undefeated Joe Doering next week on IMPACT.

Matt Taven & Mike Bennett w/ Eddie Edwards vs Heath & Rhino

Heath and Rhino look to defend the legacy of IMPACT as they take on Matt Taven and Mike Bennett tonight! The leader of Honor No More, Eddie Edwards, joins Tom Hannifan on commentary. Taven and Bennett cut off the ring as they begin to wear Heath down. Heath is about to tag in Rhino when Bennett knocks him off the apron. Heath counters a neckbreaker from Taven into a clothesline, allowing him to make the tag. The pace quickens as Rhino goes on the attack. Amidst the chaos, Bennett hits Rhino with a superkick, followed by The Climax from Taven for three!

After the match, Honor No More swarm Heath and Rhino, delivering a brutal steel chair assault to the “War Machine”. Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and Frankie Kazarian hit the ring, sending Honor No More retreating.

Rhino is taken away in an ambulance. Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and Frankie Kazarian want to get their hands on Honor No More and IMPACT Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore grants them that opportunity in a five-on-five Honor No More vs IMPACT Originals match at Slammiversary!

The road to Slammiversary continues on an all-new IMPACT! next Thursday at 8/7c on AXS TV and 8:30pm ET on YouTube for IMPACT Insiders! Knockouts World Tag Team Champion Tenille Dashwood goes one-on-one with Rosemary. IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander battles the undefeated Joe Doering. Plus, Eddie Edwards, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett collide with Frankie Kazarian and the Motor City Machine Guns!

Moose & Steve Maclin vs W. Morrissey & PCO

Four of the biggest stars in IMPACT step into the ring for this all-star tag team main event! Morrissey and PCO are working well together in the opening minutes as they deliver a double chokeslam to Maclin. Moments later, Maclin knees Morrissey from the apron, allowing Moose to target his knee and gain control. Moose and Maclin keep Morrissey grounded until he’s able to break free and make the tag to PCO. Maclin gets flattened by PCO who soars with the De-animator off the top rope. PCO continues the attack with a cannonball to the outside, taking out both Moose and Maclin. Morrissey is Caught in the Crosshairs before Maclin collides with PCO on the floor. Maclin finishes off Morrissey with a vicious DDT for three!

After the match, PCO clotheslines Maclin but gets caught with a thunderous Spear from Moose. The lights go out and Sami Callihan appears in the ring once again. Callihan attacks Moose with his signature baseball bat as the “Death Machine” continues to make his life a living hell.
