Kevin Kay, who had been overseeing the newly rebranded Paramount Network channel (formerly Spike TV), is now out at Viacom according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Kay ended up as one of the more high profile figures when it came to pro wrestling dating back to the TNN days when WWE programming was courted back in 2000.
He had been with Viacom for more than 20 years. Kay is also responsible for bringing UFC to cable in 2005, along with signing TNA for the weekly Impact series back in 2005. F4WOnline reports TNA was on the “verge of shutting down” until landing the Spike TV, just months after ending a paid weekly spot on Fox Sports Net.
