Brian Cage to undergo surgery, confirms he done with IMPACT

In a video on Facebook that he posted Friday (view below), Former IMPACT World Champion Brian Cage gave an update on both his injury and contract status.

Cage confirmed he no longer under contract with IMPACT Wrestling. He said IMPACT made him an incredible offer, as did several other companies.

He then said he is “not technically with any group right now at all, and did have a bunch of amazing offers from all over the place”, and is hoping the offers still stand as soon as he is healed.

Cage said that while he was thinking all of the offers over, he suffered a torn right biceps and is scheduled to undergo surgery this Monday.  He went on to say that he is being told that it could take up to six months to recover, but he’s hopeful that he’ll be able to heal faster.  Cage also stated that no matter how many times he’s been hurt during his career he’s never had to undergo surgery until now.

He apologized for having to miss the upcoming independent shows was booked for.

Cage was scheduled to face Rob Van Dam at the IMPACT Hard to Kill pay-per-view back on January 12.

The match went to a no contest, with Cage being attacked before the match and then taking a Van Terminator by RVD, who then ended up facing Daga.

On the same night after the Hard to Kill PPV, we reported that SoCalUncensored.com reported that Cage has agreed to a multi-year deal with AEW.

Cage’s real-life wife and IMPACT talent Melissa Santos took to Twitter responding to the report from SoCalUncensored denying Cage signed with AEW.  She did however, confirm that Cage was done with IMPACT Wrestling and that everyone would know when he signs with another company.
