In an interview with The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, TNA President Carlos Silva set the record straight on a recent edict regarding intentional bleeding within the promotion.
Despite a previous report stating that “purposeful, heavy bloodletting” would no longer be allowed within TNA, Silva explained that the conversation with talent in a recent meeting was done to encourage the locker room to utilize brutality and intentional bleeding more sparingly, following two extreme instances in a short period of time.
The conversation around bloodletting in TNA comes after the company held a Barbed Wire Massacre match between Sami Callihan and Mance Warner at Unbreakable and a Dog Collar Match between Steve Maclin and Eric Young on the 5/8 edition of TNA IMPACT.
Silva noted that other members of the TNA creative team were in full support of the motion, on board with making sure violence is used in a “more impactful” way.
