Reason for titles changing on TNA IMPACT; New champion; What happened after the show went off the air

Thursday’s TNA IMPACT premiere episode on AMC saw The IInspiration (Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee), drop the Knockouts World Tag Team Titles to The Elegance Brand’s Heather and M By Elegance.

According to Fightful Select, the reason for the title change is due to The IInspiration are set to depart TNA Wrestling. It was further noted that McKay and Lee signed a series of short-term deals with

It was also noted by Fightful Select that the duo did not sign a new contract with TNA after signing a series of short-term deals with TNA. The report further adds that while the two were open to remaining in TNA, they opted on finishing up at the IMPACT premiere episode on AMC, as there is interest in the IInspiration outside of TNA Wrestling. Fightful Select did not indicate which promotions have shown an interest in the now former TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions.

Also, the main event of the premiere episode, saw Mike Santana become a two-time TNA World Champion by defeating Frankie Kazarian, after hitting him with a spin the block to get the pin.

After IMPACT went off the air, the rematch at Genesis was changed to a Texas Death Match, approved by Santino Marrella. New Director of Authority Daria Rae (former Sonya Deville in WWE), said she had no problem with the added stipulation, but that Nic Nemeth will be the special referee.
