Report: TNA locker room pushing to sign former top MLW star

According to Jon Alba at The Takedown on SI, multiple sources in TNA have said that top independent star Richard Holliday has been a name which has been brought up by many within the TNA locker. It was added that several talent have been “outright pushing he be signed by the company.” to management.

The publication also notes one pitch they were made aware of was to have Holliday have been revealed as Mr. Elegance, a role that was ultimately given to top indie star AJZ.

Alba further notes it is unclear as to whether or not Holliday has had any formal discussions with TNA, even as several on TNA’s management side and those on the company’s roster have expressed interest in working with him.

The 33-year-old Holliday became one of the top names in independent wrestling last year, having spent six years with MLW prior, as one of the the company’s tops stars. He also had a bout with and battled Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and earned a WWE tryout upon his return to pro wrestling.

TNA Wrestling has been in the midst of roster changes as of late. The IInspiration departed the company after dropping the Knockouts Tag Team Titles on the premiere of IMPACT on AMC this past Thursday and The Rasclaz officially signed with AEW.

TNA will host Genesis, it’s first big pay-per-view of the year tonight from the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. The event is available to order on TNA+, TrillerTV and traditional pay-per-view and satellite providers.
