THIS IS AWF WRESTLING PILOT TV TAPING
THIS FRI 16 APRIL, 2010
THE CUBE – CAMPBELLTOWN, NSW

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) enthusiastically returns to the state of the art Campbelltown Convention & Entertainment Complex venue “The Cube” on Friday 16 April, 2010 with a massive evening of live sports entertainment entitled “This Is AWF Wrestling”.

The event itself will be a special pilot TV Taping, which will be viewed by TV stations for tentative airing later in 2010. This monumental event will showcase tremendous excitement featuring over 2 hours of live pro-wrestling action suitable for the whole family. A special fan appreciation price of only $10 per ticket will apply to the event, making it affordable for any family to attend.

The last Cube event in January saw an enthusiastic near capacity crowd enjoy a fantastic evening of quality wrestling, and the 16 April event will no doubt be aiming to top the electricity of that evening. The AWF talents will be looking to avenge results from their last encounters in Campbelltown, and all wrestlers will be looking to impress fans and management as the level of competition will be at its highest.

As part of the massive line up all AWF Championships will be on the line, there will be women’s action, as well as special feature bouts. In attendance will be AWF standouts Australasian Champion: Massive Q, TNT, Powerhouse Theo, Mick Moretti, plus local area representatives Blakestone, Mark Hilton, Traffic and Mighty Mel.

The main event proceeding of the event will see 165kg Massive Q defend his Australasian Championship for the first time against the undefeated former champion, and Australia’s most recognizable pro-wrestler TNT. Massive Q won the Australasian Championship on 15 January after defeating all in a 3 month Tournament to crown a new Champion after TNT had to relinquish his title due to injury. TNT has recovered and says he will win his belt back and prove that his group “The Detonation Crew” is number one in AWF, and not “The Freakshow”.
In addition to, their will be huge Tag Team action as The Freakshow’s Mister Mortis & Toxin will challenge Champions The Cornershop Connection, plus Kasey Jackson & Tyson Gibbs make their AWF debut against Team Astronomy.
Commonwealth Championship action will see a contenders bout between Mark Hilton & Tama Williams, with the winner to receive a Title shot later in the night. Current Champion Powerhouse Theo will face Bill Flyswat in a return bout from Cessnock on 26 March.
AWF Women will see Selene in attendance, plus the deadly Aurora will battle the super popular Mighty Mel.
To top all that off in another main bout, the muscle of Blakestone will go up against “Ringmaster” Il Cognito in a match that will decide future rankings and title shot positioning.

“This Is AWF Wrestling” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation when it comes to the Cube on 16 April, 2010.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as this event will be highly anticipated and will be the hottest school holiday entertainment ticket in town.

Three More for May 1st!
We are very excited to announce three more matches for Saturday May 1st’s “STAND ALONE 2010” card.

To start off- another first ever singles encounter between two men who ended up walking away with the loser share of the purse on March 13th.
Standing on one side of the ring is the young international talent who impressed many fans at Domination2010, the hard-hitting Japanese heavyweight newcomer – Manabu Soya.

Facing off with Soya, a man who has had nothing but bad-luck in Season 3, and looks to turn things around – the arrogant and talented, “MVP” Michael Von Payton.

Von Payton, despite often taking shortcuts is one of the most versatile athletes on the C*4 roster. Without a doubt, MVP will be looking for victory against Soya, and to be changing his luck. However, the determined Soya looks to be climbing up the rankings with what would be a huge victory over one of Ontario’s best.

International Singles Showdown!
“MVP” Michael Von Payton
Vs.
Manabu Soya

We have several tag team matches set for Saturday May 1st, and we have two to announce right now!

Coming off a surprise return on March 13th, Asylum reunites with Matt Burns as The Flatliners at STAND ALONE 2010. Last seen together as a team in C*4, in June of 2009, The Flats are looking to make an impact as a team on May 1st. They contacted C*4 management and laid out an open challenge to any and all teams looking to face them.

An answer quickly came… Accepting the challenge on May 1st, a team with something to prove, the much hated “Price of Persia” Rahim Ali and Rush, the self proclaimed “NBA” (Natural Born A**holes).
Can Ali and Rush pick up an important win, and get one step closer to building the Prince’s nation in C*4? Or will the Flatliners flatten their opponents?

Tag-Team Challenge
The Flatliners
(Asylum & Matt Burns)
Vs.
“The Prince of Persia” Rahim Ali & Rush

The second tag team match involves the odd-ball intergender partnership that defeated Rush and Ali on March 13, Sexxxy Eddy & Addy Starr.

Addy and Eddy defied the odds and surprised many defeating Ali & Rush in a heated confrontation.

On May 1st, they will have their hands full taking on specialist tag team specialists, Deeno & Cheeky – The Incredible Hunks.

The Hunks have had very little luck in C*4 action in the past – can they turn things around on May 1st? Or will Eddy & Addy come out on top once again?

Alpha-1 Wrestling
“The Next Level”
Hamilton, Ontario
@ Knights of Columbus
Ring Announcer: Terry Mathis
Referee: Jon Turnip
Results credit: Gordo for www.owie.ca

After a video showing highlights of the last event and hyping this one The Entourage – Ethan Page, Joey Kings and Mr Melo came out to the ring. Kings said that Sabian was turned back and the border so he should easily win the Alpha Male Tournament Qualifying Match since it was now a 3-Way. Page told fans that his opponent, Soldier Ant, was also absent because he was “stuck in the mud” and since he didn’t have an opponent he was taking the night off. Their little party was crashed by Colin Delaney and Cheech. Delaney told Page that he wanted to wrestle him again. Page said he’d already beat him at the last event. Delaney agreed that was so but pointed out that Page hit him with a shoe to do it. He suggested they make shoes and everything else legal by having an Anything Goes Match. Page agreed. Cheech then said he “saw 5 guys warming up in the back for a 6-Way” so he should be the 6th man. (Pee Wee didn’t show up either.) Everyone left the ring except Cheech as the 6-Man was the opener.

1) 6-Man Match – First Fall Wins It:
Cheech def Chet Rockwell, “Psycho” Mike Rollins, Rip Impact, “Kumite Champion” Logan Savage and Cody Shore [11 min](Rockwell replaced Luis Aveiro who was out with an eye infection) Lots of crazy stuff as you might imagine in a match of this nature. Cheech pinned Rollins. Cody Shore blew out his knee when he jumped off the ropes during his introduction which led to so interesting moments in the bout.

2) “Hacker” Scotty O’Shea def Josh Alexander [11 min]This was the rematch from their time limit draw at the last show and an even better contest. Great intensity from both guys. The top rope popped during O’Shea’s Control-Alt-Delete (that Alexander avoided) but the ring damage did little to slow them down. The crew trying to fix it during the match did distract Alexander and O’Shea pinned him with a small package. Alexander offered to shake hands after the match and when O’Shea accepted he kicked the “Hacker” in the balls.

3) Extreme Rules:
“Extremely Cute Wrestler” Colin Delaney def “Motion Picture” Ethan Page w/ Mr Melo [16 min]This incredibly wild bout went all over the venue and involved chairs, shoes and even the ring steps as weapons in and out of the ring. Page and Delaney basically beat the crap out of each other before the “Extremely Cute Wrestler” won the match by pinfall after a DDT.

– Coming back from intermission fans were treated to a well done video hyping the next event – “Chapter 3” – on May 30th announcing the debut of Michael Elgin and Cloudy. Terry Mathis asked fans if they were excited for May 30th and Elgin and Cloudy. Then he said they didn’t have to wait until then…

4) “Canadian Crazyhorse” Michael Elgin def Cloudy [9 min]Cloudy was outweighed by over 100 pounds but put up a good fight against Elgin before he was crushed with a sit-out powerbomb.

5) Justin Sane def “Rock Star” James Storm [7 min]Definitely the sleeper match of the show. Good back and forth. Fans HATED Stone and chanted “Don’t come back” after the match which is reason enough to bring him back for another appearance.

– There was a 50/50 draw. Terry Mathis asked for a volunteer to draw the ticket and a young girl entered the ring. Mathis asked what her name was then smashed her in the mouth with the mic when he thrust it toward her and she leaned toward it at the same time. Fans forced him to apologize – twice. Damn funny stuff & the kid took it well.

6) Alpha Male Tournament Qualifier – Winner Advances to the Final:
Don Paysan def Cheech, Hornet and Joey Kings w/ Mr Melo
Fantastic elimination style match made all the more enjoyable by the vocals of Paysan and Cheech throughout. Comedic highlight was Paysan giving Mr Melo a Wedgie From Hell.
Hornet pinned Kings @ 8 min
Cheech pinned Hornet @ 10 min
Paysan pinned Cheech @ 20 min to advance to the finals

Good draw, a hot crowd and not a bad match on the card. Alpha-1’s 2nd show was well received by fans and serves notice that these guys intend to stick around and even in the face of no-shows and last minute changes can still provide a great show
