NWA-NY Tag Team Championship / 4-Way War Games Cage Match
Trip To Hell (c) vs. CloudLee vs. The McCloud Brothers vs. The Carribean Connection
Four Teams. Two Belts. One Cage. The stage has been set for arguably the biggest main event in NWA New York history as the NWA Tag Team Titles will be decided in a War Games Cage Match at Continuing The Tradition. Trip To Hell, Hellcat & Triple X, have staked their claim as the best team in western New York holding the tag titles for almost two years and have retained the belts at any and all costs. But CloudLee proved at February Fallout that they’re no longer a stepping stone and made their impact interfering in the tables match invoving Trip To Hell and The Caribbean Connection. Angered and embarrassed by CloudLee’s actions, the champions returned the favor at Anniversary Anarchy VI interfering in a #1 contenders match between CloudLee and The Caribbean Connection. Later in the show, the champions challenged Evan McCloud to an I Quit match knowing that Evan didn’t have a partner. Or so they thought. Much to the surprise of the champions and the fans, Evan’s brother Kyle returned to the ring to once again wage war with their long time rivals. The champions, though, sunk to a new low as Hellcat pulled Evan McCloud’s fiancee (whom Evan proposed to earlier in the show) into the ring and threatened to atttack her. Fearing for her life, Evan had no chance but to say I Quit giving Hellcat and Triple X the win. Afterwards, Jason Atlas assigned as acting commissioner for the night, announced this main event for Contiuing The Tradition. The only way to win is by submission or surrender. For all of their singles success, can “Big Rig” Brodie Lee and Cloudy win the gold and make their mark as a legitimate tag team? After several chances at the gold, can Coconut Jones and Maximo Suave finally get over the hump and taste tag team gold for the first time in their careers? Can the returning McCloud Brothers, Evan & Kyle, control their emotions and work as a cohesive unit to once again reign as tag champs? Or can “The Minister of Pain” and Triple X overcome all odds and once again prove they’re the top team in NWA New York?
NWA New York Title Match (Extreme Rules)
“The Bull of Black Mountain” Gabe Saint vs. Tommy Dreamer
Gabreal Saint has finally climbed the top of the mountain in NWA New York and “The Bull” is king of the jungle in NWA New York. But Saint faces his toughest challenge to date when he goes one-on-one with the “Innovator of Violence” Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules Match. Dreamer’s resume speaks for itself. The heart and soul of the original ECW, Dreamer has made a career out of his taking unbelievable amounts of pain and punishment and coming back for more. The champion, never at a loss for words or confidence, says that Dreamer has been on a downward spiral ever since WWE’s ECW brand folded and he’s been focused for the last two months on devising a plan to take Dreamer out once and for all. Dreamer has had other pressing matters since becoming a part of the TNA roster a few weeks ago, but rest assured come June 26th Dreamer’s focus will be on taking the gold off The Bull’s waist and taking Gabe Saint to the extreme.
Julio Dinero vs. Cheech
Another former ECW original squares off yet another top start in NWA New York ash Julio Dinero does battle with Cheech. Cheech has been on a roll as of late taking on and beating some of the top stars in the indies, including an impressive victory over Hornet at Anniversary Anarchy VI. The fan favorite from Jamaica will look to continue his winnning ways against another star in his own right, Julio Dinero. Dinero is an accomplished ring veteran himself (trained by Axl Rotten and Hack Myers) and gained vast experience and success in the original ECW as a member of Hot Commodity and in TNA as a member of The Gathering with Raven and CM Punk. Dinero certainly won’t have the fans on his side, but he might have the experience and cunning to outsmart and outlast NWA New York’s hottest star.
Danny Doring vs. Colin Delaney
A match almost five months in the making will finally take place at Continuing The Tradition 2010 as Old School ECW takes on New School ECW. To say that there’s no love lost between Danny Doring and Colin Delaney would be an understatement to say the least. This issue actually goes back to last September when Colin Delaney’s intereference cost Danny Doring the NWA-NY Heavyweight Title. Delaney then joined forces with The Young and The Wrestlers and the four men became deadset on taking Doring out of NWA-New York for good. The two were scheduled to wrestle at February Fallout but due to unforeseen circumstances, both men were unable to appear. This time both Delaney and Doring WILL be at the All Star Sports Arena this Saturday to finally settle their differences. Two interesting sidenotes: One, it is unknown if The Young and The Wrestlers will be at ringside with Delaney, but given their recent change in attitude and their hatred for Doring, anything is possible. Two: One has to wonder ifNWA-NY senior referee Ron Falco willl be assigned to this match. If so, it’ll make for an even more intriguing and volatile situation considering the history between Falco and both Doring and Delaney.
Balls Mahoney & Dewey vs. Rob “Just 2” Sweet & Nunzio
Two ECW originals and two of NWA-New York’s up and coming stars will be featured in this unique tag matchup. At Anniversary Anarchy VI Rob “Just 2” Sweet defeated “The Heartbreak Kid” Dewey Michaels by countout and the loss didn’t sit well with Dewey as he delivered Sweet Chin Music to Sweet and referee Richard Head. Sweet, a fan favorite is known for following the rules and having respect for his opponents, now feels that it’s time to try a different approach. So for one night only, Sweet will be a “FBI” (Full Blooded Italian) as he teams up with the Sicilian Shooter and former ECW Tag Team Champion Nunzio. The man of 1,000 Gimmicks is countered by joining forces with the Hardcore, Chair-Swingin’ Freak Balls Mahoney. With Balls’s smash-mouth style and Dewey’s unpredictability, this one could end up being a technical wrestling classic or an all-out brawl.
All of this and much, much more including The Young and The Wrestlers, “Fabulous” John McChesney, NWA-NY No Limits Champion Spazz, “The Montgomery Madman” Mo Mantha, NWA New York Owner Chip Stetson. It will be THE biggest wrestling show of the summer in Upstate New York. So be there Saturday, June 26th at the All Star Sports Arena in Irondequoit, New York when Rochester Goes Extreme at Continuing The Tradition 2010. Doors will open at 5:30 PM and belltime is at 6 PM.
