Highlights from “Ring of Honor On the Road” (w/Kevin Kelly), courtesy of The Mayhem’s official correspondent, Paterson from New Jersey:

His reaction to the end of the relationship between Ring of Honor and HDNet & what the future holds for televised ROH shows: “It has been an exciting time and a lot of comments on it. The overwhelming belief is that HDNet was a great partner for Ring of Honor, but at the end of the day, the loss of the television vehicle at this point is not a severe game changer. The way the business model is set up and with the way the deal was structured with HDNet, it doesn’t affect the company financially. The way Ring of Honor is set up, it’s not a real crusher.”

How ROH can expand in 2011 (without HDNet) through working with & investing in the local markets: “What I think needs to happen in Ring of Honor is they need to invest more in the local markets. I think they have tremendous capital, and they need to develop & deepen relationships with local promotions & local promoters in those given markets. Ring of Honor has had no television much more than it has had television, and I think it can continue to grow by extending the hands to others in local markets and partnering with like-minded wrestling promotions and build that way.”

More is contained in Kevin’s return to The Mayhem, including an in-depth look at the Special Challenge Matches between Chris Hero vs. Kenny King & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Rhett Titus, plus what fans can expect in the final match on HDNet (between ROH World Champion Roderick Strong & ROH World Tag Team Champions The Kings of Wrestling vs. The Briscoe Brothers & Davey Richards). Kevin will once again join The Big Mosh & “The Chairman of the Board” Todd Vincent LIVE next Monday night (beginning at 7PM ET/6PM CT) for an all-new edition of “Ring of Honor On the Road” to cover all of the fallout from ROH’s final HDNet TV tapings, plus preview the company’s return to the west coast for WrestleReunion!
