A message from Ryan McBride via the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance (TWA).
“My name is Ryan McBride, and I am a professional wrestler.
Autism is a general term used to describe a group of complex developmental brain disorders known as Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD).
Today, it is estimated that one in every 110 children is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and pediatric AIDS combined. An estimated 1.5 million individuals in the U.S. and tens of millions worldwide are affected by autism.
Autism is getting closer to home. I know, my brother has autism.
On Sun, January 30th at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ , please join me and the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance as the TWA Wrestles Autism. A portion of every tix will go to Autism Speaks and alll money raised by prize auctions will also go to Autism Speaks. We’ll also have a karate demostration with autisitc students from the Lopresti Family Dojo of South Jersey in addition to a full afternoon of family-friendly pro wrestling.”

SPECIAL KARATE DEMONSTRATION
A special needs karate program located Marlton, NJ will be doing a demonstration at the TWA Wrestles Autism event. All of the participants in this demo have a form of Autism. Although the program has a variety of special needs students, this demo will be highlighting those with Autism. The group is led by Maureen Eells a longtime member an student of The Lopresti Family Dojos which have been located in South Jersey for over 40 years.

CONGRATULATIONS to the TWA FAN of the MONTH for January 2011… Jessica Bullion !
This month’s Fan of the Month is Jessica Bullion . Jessica has been a wrestling fan since 1993. Her favorite TWA wrestlers are TWA Champion Breaker Morant and TWA Veteran “Hitman” Tony Stetson . Her favorite WWE wrestlers are John Cena, Edge, and Randy Orton.
