– “Death Before Dishonor IX” on September 17th, 2011 from New York City will be LIVE on iPPV and we invite everyone to go out of their way to view this event. The Manhattan Center in downtown NYC will hold a First Time Ever bout called the “Ringmaster’s Challenge” that will see two former World champions compete in a special 2/3 Falls match. The 1st fall must end in pinfall, the 2nd fall must end in submission, and if a 3rd fall is needed, it will be contested as a 15-Minute Iron Man contest. This is a match that will test every aspect of these two athletes including their endurance, their wrestling ability, their heart, and their drive to one day become ROH World Champion again. Not only will we see this great match but you will also witness a stacked card from top to bottom that proves our roster is the best around. Expect more matches to be announced next week! In the latest ROH Videowire (embedded above) the All Night Express and Briscoes showed that their battle is clearly not over and even though the bad blood will probably remain forever, it will take something big to put the hostility aside and allow each team to move on. While the Briscoes were being interviewed over the weekend the ANX attacked them and a brawl broke out in the parking lot next to the ring truck. Titus pulled out a ladder from the truck to defend himself and this sent a message to the Briscoe’s that ANX wanted a war. The Briscoes now have it in their head that a ladder war will end this rivalry and they can then move on and challenge for the ROH Tag Titles. It is unknown whether ROH officials would ever grant this request based on the brutality of the past two Ladder Wars. More on this next week…
– Also in the latest Videowire we saw an interview from ROH World Champion Davey Richards that explained his upcoming absence on September 17th in NYC. Richards is truly the best wrestler in the world and he will be participating on a New Japan Pro Wrestling tour during the month of September. ROH officials have a friendly relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling and therefore have allowed Davey to go to Japan.
– The next set of ROH television tapings for the Sinclair Broadcasting Group will be on Saturday night October 1, 2011 in Louisville, KY at the The Davis Arena! VIP ringside, VIP floor, and general admission tickets for this TV taping will go on sale Monday, August 22nd at noon EST right here at www.rohwrestling.com in the Online Store and are expected to go quick. The “Champions’ Table” which is two recliner seats and free food all night will be available exclusively by calling (215) 781-2500 for $150 for both tickets. We expect tickets to go quick!
– Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs have come off as very sincere and genuine with their apologies and ROH officials are willing to give them a chance. Both men were very cordial and positive over the weekend in Chicago and even went out of their way to be of assistance to the younger wrestlers. As of now ROH officials believe that both Jacobs and Corino were completely unaware of what was going to happen at “Best In The World 2011” but they are still catalysts to the incident that transpired. ROH officials have officially signed Jacobs and Corino for “Death Before Dishonor IX” on 9/17 and it is expected that both men will continue to be monitored closely.
– “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett with his trainer Brutal Bob have also officially signed for “Death Before Dishonor IX” on September 17th, 2011 from New York City LIVE on iPPV!
