-“Death Before Dishonor IX” on September 17th, 2011 is a little over one week away and by now you realize that this is another ROH iPPV that you cannot afford to miss. Fans live on iPPV and at the Manhattan Center in New York City will see two gigantic main events and a few first time ever bouts. – In “DBD IX” news, ROH officials have ruled on the Steve Corino/Jimmy Jacobs/El Generico scenario (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/jimmy-jacobs-steps-up-to-the-plate/) and it will now be El Generico vs. Jimmy Jacobs at September 17th! Corino & Jacobs took an honest look at the situation and faced up to the fact that Steve was not ready to face this demon yet. So Corino will head to Japan to compete for Zero-1 and Jacobs will step up to go one-on-one with the former ROH World TV Champ!

– ROH officials expect Ladder War III at “Death Before Dishonor IX” on September 17th to be wild and crazy however there will be a strong effort to contain the match as best as possible. The Ladder War is dangerous to everyone involved and presents a liability that Ring of Honor has not wanted to take on, especially since ROH is now under new ownership. Jay and Mark Briscoe are liabilities even without the ladders involved and that is because of Rhett Titus and Kenny King as well as not having ROH gold around their waists. These four men will probably cross paths again in the future in straight wrestling contests but they have essentially told ROH officials they will not stop the violence and hatred until the Ladder War was set for New York. They got their wish in more ways then one because a contract for a title shot at ‘Glory by Honor X’ will hang above the ring. This will be worth the price of admission alone!
– Ring of Honor is excited for our return to The Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL on Sunday, November 6, 2011! It has been over a year since ROH visited the greater St. Louis area, and we are very excited to return to the area for a special Sunday afternoon matinee with a 4PM belltime. Receiving a title match in ROH is a very prestigious honor and is accomplished entirely through wins and reputation. Based on current stats and accolades the top contenders are Roderick Strong, Eddie Edwards, El Generico, Jay Lethal and even though he will need a few more major wins, Tommaso Ciampa’s undefeated record will do nothing but strengthen his chances at being considered championship material in the future.
