Former WSU Tag Team Champions, The Belle Saints have released a free video for their fans which is now available at WSUWrestling.com
Much has been said about the Belle Saints in recent times, as the former tag champs, Tina San Antonio & Marti Belle, haven’t seen eye-to-eye. Their miscommunication, and perhaps lack of trust in each other, has cost them several matches, as well as the WSU Tag Team Championship.
The Belle Saints burst on the scene in WSU on 3/6/10. Eight months later, the Saints would end the longest WSU Tag Team Title reign in history, defeating Cindy Rogers & Jana to win the WSU Tag Team Titles.
The Saints would go on to hold those championships until the WSU 4YA. However, there was controversy.
Days before the show, Tina San Antonio, who was already injured, wound up having her injury worsened when she was attacked outside her doctor’s office on 3/1/11. Now, nearly 8 months later, WSU commissioner Amy Lee says she has solved the case of WHO ATTACKED TINA SAN ANTONIO and will announce the culprit in front of a live national iPPV audience on 11/19. WSU Wrestling officials, as well as Ms. Lee have stated that Marti Belle was not the attacker, as Marti Belle was doing WSU promotional work that day, and was also on the phone with Tina during the attack.
Many names have been questioned and suspected of the attack. At the time of the attack, Tina was completing her first year in WSU and already was a WSU Tag Champion and one of WSU’s most popular stars according to Frank Krewda of PWI magazine. Jazz subsequently had the most to gain, as she replaced Tina and became WSU Tag Champion with Marti Belle. The Cosmo Club at the time, Rogers/Lee/Jana/Savage/Cataldo were furious about the ascent of the Belles Saints in WSU. Ironically, on 11/19, Tina & Marti do battle with the Soul Sisters, Latasha & the very same Jana…
The Soul Sisters vs The Belle Saints is signed for 11/19 with the winning duo getting a WSU Tag Team Title shot on 11/19. For the Soul Sisters, the first ever tag team in WSU, this is their chance to finally accomplish their first ever goal in WSU – winning the WSU Tag Team Championships. For the Belle Saints, this is how they can get over all they’ve been through this past year and show everyone that the Saints are still marchin’.
