NWS Internet News Update For Week Of 01/23: NWS & WSU Kick Off 2012 With Hot Show Despite Freezing Snowstorm, More February Shows Announced, And More
Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what’s happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation’s leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This Friday night January 27th, NWS returns to its favorite Jersey Shore venue, the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge (2491 Hooper Avenue, just off Route 70 at the Brick Plaza), with a 7:45pm bell time.
Headlining NWS’ return to their favorite Jersey Shore wrestling venue will be a true “monster” battle as two of the scariest creatures ever to step foot between the ropes will meet face-to-face… it’s bigger than “Freddy Vs. Jason”… it’s bigger than “Alien Vs. Predator”… it’s “Brains Vs. Worms”, as the brain-devouring former ECW star The Zombie takes on former WWE worm-eating star The Boogeyman.
But that’s just the proverbial tip of the iceberg, as also headlining the show will be former WWE and AWA TV superstar and tag-team champion, Shawn Michaels’ former “Rockers” partner Marty Janetty.
There will be plenty of regional and local pro mat stars on hand as well, including NWS Heavyweight Champion and Ocean County resident Ray-Ray Marz, and NWS Tag-Team Champions The Two Rude Dudes (“Rampage” Rogers & “Corrupted” Corey Havoc) defending their titles in a grudge match against “The Bounty Hunter” Johnny Ringo & former NWA Canadian Champion “The Hockey Goon” Rocco Dorsey.
There will also be appearances by NWS Cruiserweight Champion “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie, international superstar Danny Inferno, The Atomic Dog, Slayer, “Stellar” Travis Blake, and more, including the return of area comedian and former NWS manager “Sports Agent” Ryan Maher.
Tickets are only $21 for adults and $19 for kids and seniors.
This Saturday night January 28th, NWS returns to another popular venue in Central Jersey, the Manville, NJ VFW Hall (600 Washington Avenue, just off Main Street, minutes from Routes 22 and 287), with a 7:35pm bell time.
Headlining NWS’ return to their favorite Jersey Shore wrestling venue will be a “monster” battle encore as the brain-devouring former ECW star The Zombie takes on former WWE worm-eating star The Boogeyman.
But that’s just the proverbial tip of the iceberg, as also headlining the show will be former WWE and AWA TV superstar and tag-team champion, Shawn Michaels’ former “Rockers” partner Marty Janetty, who will be taking on the self-proclaimed star of the National Geographic Channel pro wrestling special “Slammed”, Danny Inferno in a return grudge match from their last area encounter.
Manville will also play host to a special triple-threat “Ladders-Tables-Chairs Money-In-The-Bank” match, as The Funky White Boy, “Stellar” Travis Blake, and “The Love Machine” Nicky Oceans will meet in a no-holds-barred fight to climb a ladder and retrieve the proverbial briefcase containing a guaranteed contract for an NWS title shot.
There will also be appearances by NWS Tag-Team Champions The Two Rude Dudes (“Rampage” Rogers & “Corrupted” Corey Havoc), NWS Cruiserweight Champion “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie, Team Thunder Horse (Evil Indian Chief Draven & “The Warrior” Jack Spade), Jeff “Cannonball” Guerrero, and more, including the return to NWS action of popular star “G.Q.” Myke Quest!

Results From Last Weekend

National Wrestling Superstars kicked off 2012 in style on Saturday night January 21st at Stirling, NJ’s Long Hill Township Community Center, with a joint show “Blitzkrieg” with sister all-ladies promotion Women Superstars Uncensored. The turnout was unfortunately anything but stellar due to the snow and freezing rain storm that day, but the small crowd showed its enthusiasm and the hot action in the ring made for a good time by all.

In the opening contest, WSU Spirit Champion Jessica Havok, accompanied to the ring by sister Midwest Militia members Allyson Key & Sassy Stephanie, defended her title against recent TNA/Impact star Becky Bayless. With a WSU World Championship match looming, and her cohorts in her corner, the pumped-up Havok made short work of Becky, dominating most of the match and finishing her off with a Samoan Drop to get the easy 1-2-3.
Winner and still WSU Spirit Champion: Jessica Havok.
After the match, Havok and Key and Stephanie continued to attck Bayless three-on-one, until Alicia and Brittney Savage ran out from the back with chairs in hand to drive the Midwest Militia out of the ring.

The second match was an NWS three-way dance featuring Wrestling Matt, The Soul Assassin, and “The White Urkel” B. Fehrm. Assassin and Fehrm ganged up on relative newcomer Matt early on and threw him out of the ring for most of the match, and battled each other one-on-one. Fehrm looked like he had the match won after a superkick to Assassin, but Matt truimphantly returned to the ring and leveled both with powerslams and covered Fehrm for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Wrestling Matt

In the third match of the night, WSU rising stars Jessie Brooks and Jenny Rose fought each other one-on-one. The fans were treated to a classic exhibition of mat wrestling by these two relative newcomers to WSU, with a flurry of countless back-and-forth near falls by both ladies. Unfortunately, this match was so even that it ended in a time-limit draw.
Winner: None (time-limit draw)
After the match, “Boy Diva” Rick Cataldo, who had originally been slated to face Jessie Brooks but had to back out due to medical issues, came out to the ring. He announced that neither woman deserved to wrestle him in the ring, but he had a surprise for both of them. Brooks and Rose attacked Cataldo, but as they were doing so a masked lady wrestler snuck out from the back and attacked both of them. Cataldo laughed at the fallen ladies and introduced his surprise wrestler as only “his big dark secret”, and the two left the ring laughing.

The fourth match of the night was the co-feature match for WSU, an eight-woman tag-team match, as Jennifer Cruz & Tina San Antonio & Midwest Militia members Allyson Key & Sassy Stephanie took on the foursome of Alicia & Brittney Savage & Jana & Marti Belle. As expected, this was a wild affair from start to finish. Jana and Marti tried to dominate Jennifer Cruz early on, but a miscue by Marti allowed Cruz to tag out to her teammates, and Marti was dominated by all four members of the opposition for several minutes. Marti was eventually able to tag in Jana, but even the double-tough ring veteran could not overcome four-on-one odds and was dominated too. Jana was able to withstand the assault, but before she could tag out, Jessica Havok came out from the back and attacked Brittney Savage and Alicia, and Stephanie joined in the fight on the floor as the four battled all the way back to the locker room, leaving the other four ladies left in the ring. The remaining four battled, with much confusion from the referee as to who were the two legal ladies in the ring. Jana and Jennifer Cruz ended up fighting on the floor as well, leaving former tag partners Tina and Marti in the ring. Tina flattened Marti with an armbar flatliner, and covered her for the 1-2-3 pin.
Winners: Jennifer Cruz & Tina San Antonio & Allyson Key & Sassy Stephanie

After a short intermission, the fifth match was an NWS tag-team match as Gavone Brothers member Smith James & Jeff “Cannonball” Guerrero took on NWS Cruiserweight Champion “Mr. Entertainment” J.D. Smoothie & the debut’ing “All-Star” Austin Williams. Smith and Cannonball asserted their size advantage from the beginning, and despite Smoothie and Williams’ quickness, they were outpowered, and Williams was finished off by an Avalanche in the corner from Smith, followed by a Cannonball Roll from Cannonball who covered Williams for the 1-2-3.
Winners: Smith James & Jeff “Cannonball” Guerrero
After the match, a furious Smoothie berated the fallen Williams, saying it was never his idea to tag with someone who would make him look bad. Williams did not take this “constructive criticism” well, and attacked Smoothie back, leaving him laying on the mat.

The next match was a bonus NWS attraction, as the mysterious South Pacific strongman Tapu took on former WWE star Gene “It’s Not My Fault” Snitsky. Tapu, who was normally used to mowing down opponents with his superior power, was the significantly smaller man in this match. Snitsky dominated with his power early on, and despite some offense by Tapu midway through the match, Snitsky came back to dominate Tapu and chokeslammed him for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Gene “It’s Not My Fault” Snitsky

The main event of the evening was originally slated to be TNA/Impact star Traci Brooks versus former WWE diva Jillian Hall, but Traci came out and informed the crowd that the bad weather had grounded Jillian’s flight plans and she could not be there. While the absence of Jillian’s signing voice was definitely a plus, it left Traci without an opponent, so Traci issued an open challenge to anyone in the WSU locker room. This brought out all three members of the Midwest Militia, who ganged up on Traci and beat her down three-on-one until Alicia and Brittney Savageran out from the back to even the odds. Traci and Brittney and Alicia challenged Havok and Key and Stephanie to a six-woman tag-team match, the officials said yes, and the match was on.

The six-woman match was, as expected, a wild affair. Alicia and Traci dominated early, but when Stephanie blocked a bulldog from Brittney, she and her teammates triple-teamed Savage for several minutes. Brittney withstood the assault, reversed an Allyson Key crucifix slam attempt into a back-cracker, and tagged in Traci, who cleaned house on Key and Stephanie. Havok came into the ring and stopped Traci’s momentum, but Brittney took Havok down with a tornado DDT, and Alicia hit Stephanie with an Alicia-Bomb and pinned her 1-2-3 to get the victory.
Winners: Traci Brooks & Alicia & Brittney Savage
